Where do we start...from the moment we stepped through the door on our first show around 2 years ago we knew Coombe Lodge was different from any other venue we'd looked around, but we didn't realise how special it really is until Sunday! A venue is only as good as the team running it, and you guys are just amazing - what a well-oiled machine!
Martha, thank you for answering the copious emails and making everything so simple and easy! You have a way of putting anyone at ease with your calmness!
Charlotte, thank you for making sure everything ran smoothly on our big day, and for placating Matt, aka Groomzilla, when he realised there was no red bull! Moving the ceremony outside last minute meant a huge amount, and it was all just prefect! Thank you also for making sure mum's friend John, on crutches,was okay during the day too.
Catering team, wow what can we say?! The chicken was the tenderest I've ever tasted and everyone commented on the quality! The pizzas in the evening, the sausage rolls and the breakfast were all second to none. Thank you!
Waiters and waitresses, what an attentive team you are. You made sure everyone was well fed and watered and were so professional! The young boy who worked the long shift and even served us breakfast (Seth I think?), what a wonderful young man you are! Polite, professional and always went the extra mile - thank you!
Cleaning team, you're like little fairies! The rooms were spotless, despite the tight turnaround from one wedding leaving to the next arriving! How do you guys do it?!
All our suppliers said how fabulous and professional Coombe Lodge was but even that doesn't do you all justice. Thank you to the whole team, behind the scenes too, and we can't wait to come back and visit one day!
There should be a little delivery of something for you all arriving on Monday.

Thank you so, SO much for running our wedding on Saturday. It was absolutely the most wonderful day and that was largely due to your excellent management of everything - both before the event and during the actual day. You took over from Tom seamlessly on the admin front and knew every detail. You were brilliant - always there to take our drinks (and return them!) at all the key moments, and a face of reassuring calm when we needed prompting to do something, or go somewhere!
We would also like to extend our thanks to everyone on the CL team, both front of house, and everyone behind the scenes who played a part on the day, and in the run up. Honestly, CL was looking absolutely stunning in the sunshine, your wonderful gardeners and grounds-people had done an amazing job.
We would be grateful if you could please send us the final food and drink invoice, just for our records, when you get a moment.

"Dear Izzy,
Where do we start!
We arrived at the venue at midday and shown to our rooms (Wow!). From then on the day just got better and better. All the staff were attentive, friendly, and personable.
The timing of everything that Freddy and Lewis asked for was spot on. The service for the wedding breakfast was unbelievable. The food was incredible. The evening celebrations and the bar service were brilliant.
We know, that you as the Planner, who Freddy and Lewis put their trust and faith in, was the centre of everything and you deserve every congratulation.
The service continued well past midnight, where the staff acted as drinks waiters, when the party continued on the first floor landing. We had a great sleep…….then to breakfast, which had been set out beautifully. The breakfast offered a huge variety and everything was delicious. The waiting staff again were superb
After breakfast we had to sort out flowers, and a mountain of cheese. Again, the staff helped in different ways, including the offer to take some flowers to the local church. Everything was relaxed and calm, even though the wedding guests for that day were arriving!
You will know doubt be aware that our grandson Jack left ‘Bubby’ behind! There was a lot of tears, and ‘Bubby’ was found the following day. Not in our wildest of dreams did we think of how the return was dealt with. Relief as far as Jack was concerned, but the adults truly appreciated the compassion in how the return was handled, and the image captured at the time will provide for a fond and everlasting memory
We have been to many weddings and other functions over the years and nothing has come near to the overall service provided by you and all the staff from start to finish on 16th – 17th April 2023.

From the first time we met with you to discuss options for our wedding day, we were always confident that we had picked the great place to hold our reception. Everyone we spoke to throughout the process was incredibly friendly and helpful. Nothing was ever too much trouble for you all! On the day of the wedding, all of our guests commented on how beautiful the venue was and were very impressed by the level of service. The food was incredible! The wedding breakfast was the best food I've ever had at a wedding and all our evening guests loved the fish and chips too!
A special thank you to Tom for answering all our last minute questions, Martha for replying to all of our emails and blowing up the huge banana for the photo booth and Izzy who was with us throughout the day and was just amazing.

We are beyond delighted we were able to get married at Coombe Lodge and, cheesy though it sounds, it truly was a fairytale day! "Hi Martha - We hope your well. We wanted to get in touch to thank everyone at Coombe Lodge for an unforgettable day on Thursday. We were so moved by the way the team dressed the venue with all of our personal touches and guests were absolutely blown away by the venue, setting, food, the rooms and standard of service. It was a first-class wedding with a truly Italian vibe which exceeded all of our expectations.
We really didn't expect the breakfast setting that we were greeted to the next morning! It was like an extension of our wedding breakfast and even the photograph of Jo's mum was placed on the top table amongst the flowers. It meant so much to Jo that the team had done that.
We are sorry that we don't remember names by the lady who was on shift that night and in the morning (tall, dark hair) was exceptional and couldn't do enough for us and our guests. We appreciate we were up into the early hours upstairs just reliving the day and she went above and beyond for us.
Once again, thank you all for a truly magical day. Coombe Lodge has a special place in our hearts and we would love to re-visit (out of season of course) if we are able to.

Throughout this whole process everyone has been incredible. Martha and Tom especially, you both have been a total joy and so unbelievably helpful and understanding. I'm so pleased we got there in the end - and the day was more than perfect! Martha - you were amazing on the day and it ran like clockwork - it was so special to have you there on the day after first meeting you 4 years ago! Also to mention the food - incredible!
Even the weather was on our side and we got to have our gorgeous outdoor ceremony, and a surprise from a double rainbow which has made some incredible shots! The photo attached was taken by the best man - I can't wait to see the professional ones! We will send some across when we get them :)

"We recently got married at coombe lodge and absolutely loved it, from the minute we first drove up the drive looking for a wedding venue, we just knew this would be it. The day itself was absolutely perfect, everything was organised and taken care of for us, Anita who looked after us on the day, made sure we had everything to hand, and even put a board of canapes together for us, as we didn't had time to grab any! The food was amazing, just incredible for all the meals! "Thank you for making the day so special for Alex and Joe and all our guests at a stunningly beautiful location.
However, thank you simply doesn’t do justice to your incredible reaction to our early morning plight.
There we all were in the car park of our overnight accommodation in our night clothes. With the fire brigade in attendance it suddenly became obvious that the Bride (our daughter), Bridesmaids, Mother of the Bride, Paige Boy along with make up, hair and flower ladies, with myself and others were left with nowhere to get ready.
A panicked and stressed call was made to you. Your response was truly amazing, telling us to come straight to Coombe Lodge. You opened up all our bedrooms, including the Bridal Suite. To then lay on tea, coffee, hot croissants and Danish pastries was so thoughtful. Your kindness moved us to tears.
You quite literally saved the day.

Just a quick note to say thank you and the entire team at Coombe Lodge SO MUCH for our wedding on Friday.
The day ran so smoothly, exactly as I planned and we both had the best time. The venue is spectacular and you wouldn’t believe the amount of guests who came up to us to say how impressed they were with it.
Both of you helped put my mind at ease throughout the planning stages and Tom you were an absolute star on the day, making sure everyone was in the right place at the right time, keeping Craig and me on top of everything at all times.
The props set-up was exactly what I had planned, if not better, and the music room looked absolutely incredible for both the ceremony and the wedding breakfast. We also loved that you moved the flowers and props into the breakfast room the following morning - that was such a lovely touch and allowed us to appreciate it all for just a few moments longer!
The accommodation was stunning, and thank you to whoever turned our room down at some point in the evening - that was really thoughtful.
We also wanted to thank the gentleman who served us at the breakfast in the morning - he was very patient whilst we were waiting for the last few guests to come down so we could take our seats!
And of course, thank you for the many, many emails we've exchanged, changing dates and timings. You always managed to put my mind right at ease and made a very stressful process a lot more manageable, so thank you.

Hi Charlotte - I just wanted to say the biggest thank you to you for all of your help and support with our wedding! You were so helpful and patient with all of my million and one questions and made the whole wedding planning process so easy. It was so easy for us to put our trust in you in setting up the best day of our lives so far... everything was honestly perfect....we couldn't have asked for more! And the fact that you spent the whole day hobbling due to your running injury and yet carried on as if nothing had happened, all to ensure we had the best day, is just one of the reasons we can't thank you enough.

We would like to thank the whole team at Coombe Lodge for making Shona's and Adam's Wedding so perfect. The whole day was absolutely beautiful. The change over in the rooms throughout the day went so smoothly and was completely unnoticed by the guests. The food was absolutely gorgeous and the service by the team throughout the day was spectacular, no job was too small for them and they attended to all the guests needs promptly and with courtesy. The set up of breakfast the following day was also so lovely , again nothing was too much for the team.
I was amazed how you manage the change overs not only on the day but also between the different wedding parties . Obviously you have such a large amount of experience in this area, you really do have it down to a tee, ensuring that the wedding party are supported from start to finish. Everyone has commented on the beautiful venue, and the lovely food and whilst I may be biased , this was certainly one of the best wedding venues I have ever attended.

We truly had the most wonderful, memorable day and we want to thank all Coombe Lodge staff for making it possible!! The day went seamlessly thanks to your wonderful organisation and staff. The venue looked gorgeous as ever and everyone was so complimentary about how you had set it up! Nothing was too much trouble for any staff member whether it was moving our flowers to create an indoor backdrop, Anita volunteering to utilise the bouquets as additional décor, finding food for a last minute vegan guest who replaced someone who couldn’t make it, making sure the bridal suite was tidy and perfect for us at the end of the night, the list goes on!! and of course just doing everything in such an organised and timely manner!!
We have also had so many compliments about the food! Everyone was so happy! I think it’s the best salmon and cheesecake I’ve ever had! Please, please thank your incredible chef!!

To Anita for just being everywhere on the day, from sorting my dress and veil, to always checking in with me and Dan and making sure everything ran smoothly and that we were happy. We really feel like a part of Coombe Lodge after I think just over 3 years of planning. Firstly we cannot thank you for your consistent support throughout this time. Despite you all going through the pandemic and trying to manage this, you supported us and kept our spirits high from start to finish. You honestly made the whole experience as stress free as possible and we will forever be in your debt for this. We just hope we weren’t too much trouble!
Our day was the most perfect day we could ever imagined, well worth the wait and this was absolutely all down to your commitment and hard work in making this happen. Your attention to detail was incredible and nothing was too much trouble. We really couldn’t imagine anywhere else we would have rather got married and will always thank you for this. A huge thank you to Martha for being there on the day. Martha is honestly one of the most kind and caring people and just having Martha there made us feel so comfortable and at ease. "Tom, Martha & The team - Firstly, I'm so sorry we haven't been in touch sooner, I can't believe a whole month has passed since our wedding day already, to be honest it's been an absolute whirlwind and we're still on a high from our incredible day!
We just wanted to say a huge huge thank you to Tom & Martha who together managed to not only keep us sane beforehand but worked so hard to make our day better than we could have possibly imagined. From the crushing moment it was announced that weddings were banned back in March, to receptions being delayed with just 2 weeks to go, you have been a constant source of support, reassurance and patience for us and continually went above and beyond to help put our minds at ease during what was an intensely stressful time.
On the day itself, my husband (still not used to saying that!) and I were absolutely blown away. Whilst we obviously couldn't have the wedding we had planned, what we did have far exceeded any expectations we had and that is without a doubt thanks to the incredible team at Coombe Lodge. Of course, it goes without saying that the house itself and stunning grounds are the main reason we wanted to get married here, but aside from that we were astounded by the incredibly attentive and helpful staff and truly exceptional food. So, although getting married during a pandemic comes with its own sacrifices, we can honestly say you gave us such a special wedding day that nothing felt like we'd compromised and all of our guests were stunned. In the build-up to the wedding, the staff, particularly Becca our coordinator, were patient and understanding and took away a lot of the stress involved. On the day they were fully professional and well-organised meaning we didn't have to worry about anything. The transitions between events of the day were seamless, even our slightly out-of-the-normal fire show. Becca kept the whole day running so smoothly that all we had to do was relax and enjoy our big day.
